Sometimes it is best to learn through something that is simple. This is what this book is all about. A little girl does not understand how to give an apology. She believes that if she just says I’m sorry that is enough. The little girl believes that her actions do not have consequences and she can engage in whatever behavior she would like. one day she kicks the ball in the house and it knocks over a beloved decoration for the holiday of Yom Kippur. Through this action her mother decides to help her understand the consequences of her actions. She makes three different large numbers on the floor. Through the numbers she explains what an apology is. The little girl cannot move onto the next number until she understands the part that coincides with the current one. Making it into a game is a great way to help children understand things that are hard. Through the game she is focused and wants to continue which leads her to realize how her actions effect others. By jumping to three she is able to give a hug and an appropriate apology. A book and a game are sometimes the best way to help children understand things that can be hard.
