This is a beautiful book that i very much enjoyed reading. More than the story it is the history and mythology that is captivating. I was not expecting this and it is easily one of my favorite parts of the book.

The story is of a group of mermaid that protect our oceans. The story discusses sea animals many people in general may not have heard of that are endangered. It discusses what exactly is hurting the animals like plastics garbage that are thrown into the ocean. For the story itself this is a wonderful idea. It teaches children about sea animals and animal conservation. It can spark their interest in being environmentally friendly and helping with animal conservation.

At the end of the book there is a note discussing the different names in the book. They are all of real mythological creatures or royalty that lived before. There is also information on the animals which is a great learning experience for children.

More than an adventure around the world this book teaches children about the beauty it offers in animals and how they should be protected. Easily my new favorite book. 5/5 stars
