Jazmyne’s Big Emotions written by Tom Tracy and illustrated by Beatrice Mello review

This is a beautiful book that is not just about emotions but also about Foster Care. It starts with showing the wonderful side of foster care. One of my favorite things about the beginning of the book is the amount of diversity. There are not just different ethnicities but same-sex couples shown as foster parents. Then the narrator discusses her emotions in a way that any child or adult can understand. The story is completely relatable and brings with it easy-to-use techniques for anyone who is feeling similar emotions. I love the fact the story is not just diverse but also relatable. You don’t have to be in foster care to feel Jazmyne’s feelings and that is the beauty of this story. It is not only bringing out a message of big feelings being ok but that being in foster care is too. The illustrations perfectly bring each page to life. It is an easy read that is a must for any family, school, and library. No only for its message but to also encourage openness and acceptance.
